Model answers (aimed at band 7+)

What kind of films do you enjoy?

I'm a big fan of science fiction, especially films that make you think about the future, like Interstellar. I'm not really into horror, though. I watched one with friends last year and couldn't sleep properly for a week.

Do you prefer watching films at home or at the cinema?

For big blockbusters, the cinema, because the sound and the screen make such a difference. For everything else I'd rather watch at home, where I can pause it, and it's a lot cheaper.

Have you watched any good series recently?

Yes, I've just finished a Korean drama that my sister recommended. I was sceptical at first, but I got completely hooked and watched the last six episodes in one weekend, which I'm a bit embarrassed about.

Do you watch films in English?

I try to, with English subtitles. It was hard at the beginning because people speak so fast, but it's really improved my listening, and I've picked up a lot of everyday expressions that you never see in textbooks.
